BinForGreenSeas

A solution based approach to stop marine plastic enter the sea

Recycled plastics are used in the manufacture of the bins
  1. The resin in each and every BinForGreenSeas contains, around 450 recycled PET plastic bottles. Diverting plastic from incineration or landfill.

UNIVERITY OF EAST LONDON

The BinForGreenSeas goes to home to UEL where the design was created.

The bin is located in the Dockland Campus


WHITBY BAY

Originally in Scarborough.

The bin has been relocated to Baxtergate.


PORTISHEAD

July 2021

Portishead marina has a new bright addition to its quayside.

The bin is located next to the marina's lock gates.


CANARY WHARF

June 2021

The financial capital of London sees a new addition. The Lord Mayor of the City of London, Sir William Russell unveiled the bin.

The bin is located at the Clipper entrance of Canary Wharf pier.


CLEVELEYS, WYRE

September 2020

The bin is funded by the Rotary Club for North Fylde, District Enforcement and supported by Wyre Council.

The bin is near the promenade.

The first BinForGreenSeas was unveiled on World Environment Day.

The bin is located on the promenade near Blackpool Tower.

PRODUCT DESIGN

The BinForGreenSeas was designed by students

2018

UEL product design students conducted a survey to gather information for designing the BinForGreenSeas.

In 2019, the final design was produced by Emily Hodgkinson and George Davis.
